In January 2022, the State Audit Institution of the Republic of Serbia (SAI) will introduce a system for automated digital implementation and monitoring of the audit procedure, which will improve the quality and speed up the audit procedure.

Today, the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia adopted the Activity Report of the State Audit Institution for 2020, submitted by the State Audit Institution, with the Draft Conclusion of the Committee on Finance, Republic Budget and Control of Public Expenditure from June 16th 2021.

Ever since the International Organization for the Human Rights of Persons with Disabilities - Disability Rights International (DRI) and the Mental Disability Rights Initiative of Serbia (MDRI-S) held a press conference on June 24, 2021 in the Media Center, during which the report "Forgotten Children of Serbia" was presented, the abbreviation DRI (Serbian abbreviation for SAI) has been frequently used in newspaper articles, which can lead to the incorrect connotation that those reports were produced by the State Audit Institution, that became recognizable to the public under the abbreviation DRI.

During 2020, the State Audit Institution identified misstatements in financial statements of the audited entities in the amount of 376 billion dinars, as well as irregularities in operations in the amount of 130 billion dinars, said Dr. Dusko Pejovic, SAI President and Auditor General, at today's session of the Committee on Finance, Republic Budget and Control of Public Funds Spending of the National Assembly.
